we learnt later in episode that losties will flash to flash in time ! So my theory is this scene it's from future episode on the show !
you think it's fb but later, you'll see it was PRESENT TIME where our losties will be ! it's not fb but it's a sequel of all flash, with times losties will STAY in one time (maybe when locke will leave the island) and i bet it will be DI times and danny boy is trying to find a way to move the island back in their time !

In s4 i thought, help you to find the island, i didn't expected sun to say it, plus ben don't do anything against her but it's his fault widmore bring people on the island and so jin's death ! (even if sun blames more jack for that !)

First movie, marty came back in the past and finally changed the past, present and future, not the fact his parents will be together but their life and also the fact at first his OWN MUM have had crush on him 'cause he was saved by his grandpa and it wasn't his dad who was saved ! so he interracted with them but also changed his OWN present !
what could have happen if our losties could have warn the o6 to leave the island ?
I mean when marty revealed to doc he was gonna to die in his future, he changed the story too 'cause at the end, he saved doc's life !

here he was right, it's dangerous to learn for the future, and you can join dan's word about the story BUT both dan and marty will not follow this rules !
so as i said WHAT IF our losties could have warn the o6 ?
If you took BTF you create a breach in the space-time continuum, so the present and future change so memory from the first life are erased except YOURS !
so what it could happen right NOW if sawyer and co could have warn them ? if they warned them, what could happen to their bodies off the island ? could just disappeared right now and appear on the island with only the memory of i was ready to go but we spoke some weeks before and you told to don't to ! could have them forget everything of this first life ? so why dan is worry if losties do it ? more because for them OR for the o6 'cause maybe they couldn't JUST erased what happened but everything too ! i'm confused here, i don't get what is so much dangerous, you change the past so what ? what happen next ?

Filming report epi 5x13

With filming for Episode 5x13 underway, our good friend Roxy was able to grab some interesting pictures today.

Apparently Miles was filming a scene off-island being kidnapped by two guys and one of the men seemed to have a Swan Logo on his jacket!?

NOTE: I am assuming this is for Episode 5x13 as filming for that episode began today, but it is possible this crew is still filming for a previous episode. Once we know more we will confirm

Here is her little report and some pics:

Today they were filming off of Lehua St near Chuck E Cheese in Pearl City. It was a shot of Miles being kidnapped by two men and thrown into a van. Pics are attached :)

Is that the Swan symbol on the "bad guys" jacket???? We weren't suppose to take pictures- so I didn't get any action shots, sorry!

I also saw the same stuff. I took some picture as well. i saw them filming in the day time as well. They were shooting at a "apartment" type complex.

And the 1st scene I'm not sure who was involved. I THOUGHT I saw Abbadon's head, but i could be wrong. and i could hear them over the fence, mentioning money. and being surprised and stuff. they also were later shooting a scene with a little Asian boy (assuming its a young miles.) running into a hotel room, and I believe seeing a "dead body" because thats what they had kinda said. i saw them putting a dummy in there. and when the boy went in the room he acted surprised, and then i heard them saying "Charlie up" "Eko's up" and "Locke's up" between takes.
after the boy would run inside, an Asian woman and an older looking gentlemen went in there after him. there was also an older looking Asian man on set acting as well. i m not sure doing what or who it was.

Later we saw them filming at that taco shop, and miles being thrown into the van and being kidnapped. i didn't hear them say that we weren't allowed to take photos. so i took some from time to time. and it would explain why they were eyeballing me like i was killing kittens.
there were a lot of other people there, and a lot of people taking pictures.

The security guard earlier that day said he didn't want me to take photos, but we were welcome to watch. so we did.

Funny story. we actually thought the Mexican food place they were shooting at was real, so prior to them actually shooting we tried to actually order food, becuase there were some other people there. and when we tried to order none of the crew said anything, the guy at the counter actually played along, thinking that we were actually in the scene. it was quite embarrassing. and hilarious at the same time.

This is the good news that Lost's fire-haired vixen Rebecca Mader (Charlotte) has to share with fans, the morning after we saw her face-plant into her own blood on the increasingly trippy time-tripping series.

"So far, I'm good," Mader told me today over a cup of coffee in Los Angeles (she's on a break from filming the show in Hawaii). "The fans have been so cool. Everyone's like, 'Nooo, find your constant!' "

Speaking of that "constant," who could very well save Charlotte's life, could Daniel Faraday (Jeremy Davies) be the one? Could Charles Widmore be Charlotte's father? And what request does Rebecca have for the producers regarding one Mr. Josh Holloway?

Girlfriend, you need to find a constant, stat! Do you think Mr. Faraday could be Charlotte's constant and save her life?
Maybe not. Maybe it's something more interesting. Maybe it's something more like...considering she's been to the Island before, it might be something you never thought of, you know?

From Margaret: Why do you think the time travel is affecting Charlotte and not anyone else?
I don't know. I really don't. But it's true that it is definitely affecting Charlotte more than everybody else at this point.

Right. Has she tried a humidifier? I was having terrible nosebleeds, and let me tell you, the humidifier, you sleep with that thing, and it clears it right up.
I need to get one of those for my bedroom! I'm going to tell Charlotte that—that's genius. I'll buy her one!

From Jill: Does Charlotte return Dan's feelings? Will the fact that he loves her be important in upcoming episodes?
I think Charlotte does have feelings for Daniel, but after he tells her that he loves her, and she gets emotional, I think she does that because it's all incredibly overwhelming. Yeah she's tough, yeah she jumped out of an elevator, yeah she's a badass, but at the end of the day, she's a woman. I think she came to the Island for a specific mission, and all of a sudden she's tied up and time traveling, and it's like, this is not what I signed up for.

From David: What is Charlotte's skill set? The group of people who came to the Island were chosen for their particular skills.
It hasn't been revealed to me at this point, and I don't think she has any special skills or powers. I think [her reason for coming to the Island] is more about her birthright than anything else. Though it would be cool to have a superpower. I'd like to be invisible! I could watch other people and then take information to Faraday.

From Indie1008: Could Charlotte be Charles Widmore's secret daughter?
I think there's a possibility that her parents could be interesting. I don't know that yet, but I hope so. I'd like to find out that I have really interesting parents. One of the producers joked at work, when we were shooting the season finale of season four, he was like, "Hey, Mader, next season we find out that your parents are actually Irish leprechauns." I was holding a bottle of water, and I just poured it on him, and we had a water fight. First of all, I'm not Irish. Just because I have red hair doesn't mean I'm a lucky charm, you know? It was really funny.

Are you hoping for any other romantic connections on the show? Jack? Sawyer?
[Laughs] I think she could handle all of them! Seriously, she could be like one of those 7-Elevens, open all hours. 24/7 yo! I need to send Damon and Carlton an email about that: "Pretty cute what you've done with Jeremy, but Josh Holloway, anyone?"

my theory about the sawyer lie : sawyer and co will find dead bodies of dharma team maybe they were just arrived on the island and just got their clothes but the people who give it to them died too (maybe attack by the hostiles) so dan will say we need to go in the orchidee station 'cause i guess locke went there and they want to stop him SO the first scene in the first episode could be like i thought, i mean present time not fb as everyone think but the plan don't work 'cause locke already left and so dan need to find how they can change what he did BUT dharma people found them and bring them in otherville and they need to pretend to work for DI until dan can get what he wants !

Lost Redux: Will Sawyer and Juliet Hook Up?

How would you describe the Kate/Sawyer/Jack love triangle storyline this season? Is it given much prominence or are you pulling away from that a little bit?
Carlton Cuse: Not at all. I think we're always trying to find the balance between character-based stories and mythology-based stories, and I think it'd be better to categorize it as a quadrangle. Juliet is very much in the middle of that. In fact, Sawyer and Juliet were last seen together on the island, and Kate and Jack were off the island, so that's something which is interesting to us and we will explore. It very much is a quadrangle.

Damon Lindelof: What's cool about the show this year is that we're kind of picking up both stories exactly where we left off. On the island there's been this big flash of light, and Sawyer and Juliet are standing there on the beach having just seen the freighter explode. For those guys, Kate just left on the chopper five minutes ago and for Kate and Jack, they were engaged, they broke up, she went on trial, he got addicted to pills, he grew a horrible beard...

That was a bad beard.
Damon: (Laughs) Yes, but it's gone now so we'll never have to speak of it again. The fact of the matter is, it's all a matter of perspective; if you're watching the Oceanic Six show then the island scenes are flashback, if you're watching the island show then the Oceanic Six scenes are flashforward. But as far as the relationships are concerned, Sawyer and Juliet have kind of just started hanging out, and Kate and Jack have already gone through the ringer. If and when they all come together, there should be some interesting permutations in play.

(And in case you missed our latest round of "False, True or Hell, No, We Won't Tell You," Damon also says that there is most definitely romantic tension between Juliet and Sawyer. I know...duh. We also learn Daniel's mother is someone we may already know.)

you know i'm very happy about this interview, people are worry about suliet or juliet ? but i can see a good storyline for both !
let's me explain even if i did on the past lol i always said to see sawyer and juliet close could be interesting now i could see what they could do
when they mean jack and kate will try to be friends again (i guess) we'll see again where kate's heart is BUT things happened on the island, sawyer thinks kate is dead by his fault, he seems he'll speak to juliet about it in the first episode, juliet will see the new james that kate couldn't see (not yet), i think danger will bring them close and also friends but i could see juliet has feeling for sawyer but she'll know she's not kate and sawyer in contrary of jack, will not use juliet this way too. So i can see it like that
juliet has feeling for sawyer, their friendship will be deep and sawyer will care of her, not the same way he could care about kate but still, she'll have a place in his life and "heart" in some way.
in s5 we'll see the o6 trying to come back on the island, seem it's difficult too, and we saw last season, kate's heart never left the island and more and more she'll be close of the island, more and more her feeling will grow (i guess)
during this time, sawyer and juliet will be very close, i don't see sex between them, maybe a kiss, i don't mind 'cause i KNOW and YOU KNOW sawyer will never act the way jack acted. he'll never use juliet i guess they use this way to see :
first, the opposite of jacket and see how sawyer changed again.
second, seem the way darlton spoke, mean we'll see more kate's feeling toward sawyer maybe EVEN before she'll be back !
so what it will be happen when the 3 of them will be on the island in the same time ?
i said on the past, suliet could be use to bring skate angst for the reunion, i still think it !
but remember one thing ! kate and maybe us (depend the way we'll see stuff on the island) what is the bond between sawyer and juliet !
kate couldn't help herself but to see sawyer close of another woman could make her sad 'cause she lose everything they've or at least will think that way
sawyer will be maybe distant at first 'cause with time, and what happened on the island, he changed and he'll still blame myself for what happened, they're back, i guess he didn't wanted 'cause he didn't wanted to put all them in danger AGAIN !
juliet will got sawyer's feeling and i guess they'll be like a team together.
i could see kate and juliet become friends but maybe kate won't dare to ask her what happened with sawyer and maybe juliet who know how they feel both could play the "messanger" 'cause well usually we want to see the people we love happy no ? and sawyer without kate = not good for them lol
so yes i'm not angry, not worry, i can see the way they can play it, maybe i'm wrong but i don't think they'll do the same crap they made with jacket and trust me i loved jacket but the way jack acted, i don't want him to be close of her ! and i prefer to see juliet has feeling for sawyer than jack it's BETTER for her and we know sawyer will never use her and i'm sure we'll see the way he care about her.
i think they're preparing s6 for skate right now, i mean what do you prefer to read by darlton ?
sawyer and kate will be reunited BUT she still pines for jack

jack and kate picking up their pieces BUT she still pines for sawyer

i can see a good storyline for skate, a good for juliet and sawyer too, i mean i always wanted to see them be friends but also i want to see juliet and kate be friends and not this crap we saw on the past, kate always have sawyer on her side, things changed, don't mean he don't love her (she's THE ONE FOR HIM) but mean she'll need to fight to get her man back :D but that's not fight as in LB, i can see it more emotional fight ^^
i mean what do you prefer to see them together like that ? not me, i want to see them discover eachother again, fall in love again and bring angst, problem on the island, danger, another woman in sawyer's life, kate's feeling growing too and at the end mean ONE THING !

Lost: "Jughead" Review

Advance Review: Lost is a show about time travel and I couldn't be more pleased. I've always been a bit of a geek when it comes to time travel. Doctor Who has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid and recent shows like Journeyman have only heightened my excitement for this often used but rarely mastered sci-fi mechanic. Recently we've seen Heroes completely fail when it comes to using time travel so I was happy to see the writers of Lost use Faraday to establish very specific rules in "Because You Left" – Irish lasses will sleep soundly tonight. Now that it appears our time-hopping island dwellers will be thrown about in the fourth dimension for the next few weeks, it's going to be interesting to see if the writers of Lost can properly infuse this new development into the series.

If you thought that after the first couple of episodes the constant barrage of major developments was going to slow down – you would be wrong. We learn quite a bit both off the island and on the island this week about Charles Widmore, Daniel Faraday and Desmond Hume. The veil is lifted on what could be the motivation for both Faraday and Widmore while we also learn why Desmond might want to take a step back and not pursue Faraday's request for help.

Almost every scene in this episode contained some sort of surprise, development or unexpected twist that had my mouth gaping. If you loved "Before You Left" but found yourself slightly disappointed by "The Lie," this episode will renew your excitement. It still amazes me that this show can throw so much "shock-value" at its audience and still keep much of its core mystery intact week after week. I'd be astonished if the rest of the fifth season can maintain this pace but I suspect that it just might.

Along with all the hair-raising twists, "Jughead" does reveal one frightening new bombshell that could spell doom for the survivors who have been left behind. Obviously I'm not going to reveal what it is, but it's another layer of danger that the survivors will have to contend with.
One thing that surprised me is that only two of the characters who appear in this episode were actually in the show's first season. This alone is a testament to the wonderful array of new characters that have been introduced to the show. Jeremy Davies as Faraday continues to amaze me with his performance. His offbeat, nuanced style is wonderfully entertaining to watch. Also, for those who love Desmond and Penny, there are a few moments here that will leave you very pleased.

Time travel opens up a plethora of opportunities that weren't previously available. While "Before You Left" cemented the rules and the nature of time travel in the Lost universe, "Jughead" is the first to capitalize on the concept and have a little fun. There is one encounter that completely caught me by surprise and it wouldn't have been possible without time travel. So, how long until the island sends its inhabitants back to the Jurassic Period? Sawyer riding a dinosaur would be the greatest moment in television history. For some reason, I suspect we'll learn that traveling that far back isn't possible.

LOST: Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse interview

So, you saw the season premiere of Lost. It answered some big questions, didn't it? Bet you have a lot more though. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse gave a press conference about the first three of the season, but the only spoilers here are presupposing you're already caught up on the premiere and looking ahead as we all are.

Crave Online: Should we assume the season three finale was the first flash forward, or could other previous ones have been in the future?

Carlton Cuse: Well, it's all kind of relativistic. I think what you will really learn from the season is that if you look at the sort of, if you look at Lost in its totality, where sort of various pieces of the jigsaw puzzle go in, they all go in relative to each other. So that was the first one we saw on the show but in a timeline sense, you may see other flash forwards that would slot earlier than that.

Damon Lindelof: We weren't trying to be cutesy. The actual answer to your question is that's the first event that happened after the Oceanic Six was rescued. Nothing else that you've seen happened after that.

Crave Online: Will we be seeing a lot more Nestor Carbonell?
Carlton Cuse: You will.

Crave Online: How would you have told the story if Cane had been a hit and Nestor were unavailable?

Damon Lindelof: Yeah, that's a great question. The good news is that since we got the end date of the show, that allowed us a tremendous amount of preplanning time. So in the case of Nestor, basically he was on the show Cane last year and we found ourselves in a position where if that show had been successful and had been picked up beyond the 13 episodes and he was a series regular on the show, that Lost probably, you never would have seen Richard Alpert again. So we had to have a plan B which would have been sort of catastrophic for us since we had sort of weaved Richard Alpert into the show in such a significant way. So once Cane did not get picked up, we did a deal with Nestor which basically secured his services should we choose to pull the trigger on them until the end of season six, so we have him until the end. When you have sort of secondary characters who are essential to the plot like Charles Whitmore or Richard Alpert, the benefit of knowing the story ahead of time is that we can try to lock those actors down and not find ourselves in a situation where we're waiting around for them to be available. The other good news is, because we shoot the show, the show doesn't premiere until January, we have latitude. Someone might not be available for the episode that we want them for, but because we're shooting starting in July all the way through March, maybe they're available a little later and we can slot them into an episode at a later date.

Crave Online: Will we see Claire and Jin this season?

Carlton Cuse: We'll definitely see Jin this season. I mean, he's a series regular. Claire is not a series regular this year but her story is by no means over, so you will see her but you'll probably see more of her in season six. And Jin will we back. What we've said is that we're not saying Jin is currently alive after the explosion of the freighter but since we are telling stories in both the past, the present and the future, you will definitely be seeing Jin stories. We're just not telling you when those are occurring.

Crave Online: So he's still a regular? Because he's not in any of the photos.
Damon Lindelof: That's correct.

Crave Online: Do you plan on revealing who Ben answers to or maybe revisiting Ms. Hawking?

Damon Lindelof: You know, who Ben works for is probably Ben, but the fact that he is obviously involved with other people and as you've seen from these first three episodes, has some sort of relationship with Ms. Hawking. We don't know how long it goes back or what exactly the nature of that relationship is, but again, characters' alliances, certainly those who have been on the island for a while like Ben or Richard Alpert, is stuff that we're going to start to do fairly intensively towards the latter half of this season and much more so in the final season of the show.

Crave Online: What's the plan for incorporating Ajira Airlines into the mythology?

Carlton Cuse: That's a very good question. Can we go way in the back there? [Laughs]

Crave Online: How are you staying away from the pitfalls of time travel stories?

Carlton Cuse: Well, we're on pharmaceuticals right now. That's a big part of it. You know, it is a very, it is kind of a veritable minefield to do time travel, yet it also is incredibly exciting. What we didn't want to do was have season five, the penultimate year of the show, just be a stall. We really decided that, as we always have on Lost, we were going to take some risks and take some chances. If we make some missteps, that's okay as far as we're concerned. We rather would take the risk to kind of continue to try to do what we consider to be exciting storytelling and the consequences are that there's a greater degree of difficulty in that. It's been really hard for us. We've worked really, really hard to try to resolve a lot of those conundrums to which you refer. We feel like we've done a pretty good job so far and we are really excited about the episodes of the season. I mean, they are really all the better for utilizing this island skipping time travel element.

Damon Lindelof: I think we've also become fairly masochistic in our writing. We sit around and go, "Is it fraught with peril? Yes, let's do it." That's part of the thing that keeps the show exciting. The show sort of walks this line between if we're not flirting with complete and utter catastrophe and disaster, that we feel part of the reason that the audience watches the show is when are they totally going to reach that point of no return where they've just messed things up so badly? And you can't get to that point unless you're taking risks, so the show's been a time travel show for the last four years. We're just making it more apparent in the storytelling now. Hopefully as season five unfolds, you'll reason that the time travel has been in the DNA of the show for quite some time, but we think the audience is now kind of prepared to go on that journey with us.

Crave Online: If you didn't have your end date, would you still be telling this story?

Carlton Cuse: No, I mean, I think that the end date, our gratitude to Steve McPherson and Mark Pedowitz for negotiating the end date knows no bounds. I mean, that completely liberates us. We didn't know whether the mythology we had had to last two seasons or nine seasons and that was utterly paralyzing. So now that we know exactly how many episodes we have left has really allowed us to plan and to do this stuff with the confidence that we know exactly how much of the journey is left. That's been enormously liberating and really the key to the whole show for us as storytellers.

Damon Lindelof: Essentially that we got to a point in season three, and I think a lot of you were in the room where we basically did that session after you had seen the first seven episodes of season three and the show had sort of reached that point where we all knew it was trending into an area of complete and utter suckiness. Is that a word?
Carlton Cuse: That's a good word.

Damon Lindelof: And at that point, we all had a decision to make which was are we going to have an end date or is the show going to get canceled in like a year or a year and a half? Because it simply couldn't go on the way that it was. So the story that Carlton and I would be telling if we didn't have an end date is that we wouldn't be telling the story at all. Someone else would be up here talking about Lost because we didn't know how to continue to do the show anymore, which is why we lobbied for the show. So basically, all these ideas, the flash forwards being the first one that we were able to pull the trigger on, and then entering into the endgame of the story which involved a significant amount of nonlinear time travel storytelling, was all sort of part of what our plan was but we couldn't start to do any of that stuff until we realized we were working towards an endpoint.

Carlton Cuse: Because this time travel reflects a kind of a plunge towards the ending which is irreversible at this point. I mean, once we committed to doing that, there was only a certain amount of distance between that and where the story, in our opinion, had to end.
Crave Online: Could you expand on the statements that this is the season of Sawyer?

Carlton Cuse: The season of Sawyer, Sawyer has a lot to do this year. We made sure that for people who might not be huge fans of time travel that Sawyer had his shirt off for the first episode. That was a very calculated balance act there.

Damon Lindelof: It was also important that Sawyer was not a huge fan of time travel. You will find him, over the course of the year, constantly sort of bemoaning the fact that this is the situation that he's in. We feel that last year, because of the Oceanic 6 storytelling that a lot of the focus was on Kate and Jack and Hurley and Sun and Aaron and Sayid, and Sawyer as a result of not getting off the island, did not have as much focus on him and this year, we've tried to sort of make up for lost time as it were. Josh has just been doing amazing work and we're obviously now writing the 13th episode of this season so we're just three or four shy of the end and we've seen a lot of Josh's work. We really feel that he's done an amazing job this year. There's a lot to play.
Carlton Cuse: It is kind of the season of Josh.

Crave Online: Back to Ajira, we're not the only ones who don't know what this airline is, right?
Carlton Cuse: We do.

Damon Lindelof: Yes.

Crave Online: How many regular characters and red shirts are left? You killed lots of red shirts in the last few.

Damon Lindelof: Are you talking in the context of after the flaming arrow incident?

Carlton Cuse: Rose and Bernard are still okay. They did not get taken out by the arrows.

Damon Lindelof: And Vincent the dog probably survived too.

Carlton Cuse: A lot of the other red shirts though, not so lucky.

Crave Online: Is this an opportunity to get rid of characters you don't have use for?

Carlton Cuse: Is that a Paolo and Nikki backdoor question?

Damon Lindelof: You know, the last character that anyone ever asks us about was Frogurt and you saw how we dealt with his reintroduction. Look, the show is now moving into a phase where the presence of the socks is no longer directly necessary. So we cook 'em with arrows.

Crave Online: Do you think it's best not to try to figure out what's going on?

Carlton Cuse: Look, the show is ultimately kind of a mystery show and so we hope that the viewers are engaged by the mysteries of the show, but I do think you can drive yourself crazy. I mean, one of the things that I think becomes more apparent as you move into the fifth season of the show, particularly the beginning, people theorize about the show and this is what Lost is and it reduces to it's purgatory, or it reduces to a sentence or a couple of sentences and I think we always sort of said two things that I think become more apparent the more you watch. One is it doesn't reduce down to one simple thesis statement and number two, you don't really know enough to be able to effectively theorize about where it's going to conclude. I mean, if you were to just go back to season two and say, "Well, what is Lost about?" without any knowledge of the fact that we were going to be doing flash forwards or this time travel season, or anything like that, you just don't have enough information. So I think it's fair in that sense in that I think people who like Lost the most I think are people who appreciate the journey as opposed to the destination. That's how we hope that viewers will approach the show.

Elizabeth Mitchell on Juliet and Sawyer and the New Season of Lost

When she joined the cast of Lost in season three, Elizabeth Mitchell’s calculating doctor, Juliet Burke, was not obviously a friend or an enemy to the survivors of Oceanic 815, and she unsettled viewers with her oddly calm demeanor and dubious motives. Since then it’s become clear that she was just as much a prisoner as anyone on the island, and fans gave her the nickname “Jacket” for her brief romantic interlude with Matthew Fox’s Jack Shepard. We spoke with Mitchell about the new season and hear her theory on why the Others brought Juliet to the island.

What’s going to happen this season?
There’s a tremendous amount of danger, for me and all of the people left on the island. It is a continual struggle, and it makes for some kind of bizarre and possibly intriguing alliances. I would never have put Juliet and Sawyer in the same room together, but I think it’s very exciting and fun that they are [now] because she always seemed to be fairly impervious to his charm and he seemed to be impervious to her machinations. That should bring some lovely sarcasm.

Will Juliet fare well?
Juliet has always been fairly mercenary in her desire to survive. She sits back and kind of tries to figure out how to use things to her advantage, but in this situation there’s really no sitting back to be done. So she’s just dealing with more immediate and present danger.

Juliet’s hardly innocent, but is she the show’s most sympathetic character?
I think yes. But, of course, Michael Emerson would say the same thing about Ben.

Did the writers name her after Shakespeare’s tragic heroine?
I’m certain it’s not random because they’re never random. It does seem to me that she’s pretty much destined for tragedy, whichever way she goes, no matter how hard she tries to fight against it. She does seem to be someone who gets a bit caught up with men, as far as love goes.

As we saw in season three, Juliet’s favorite book is Carrie by Stephen King. What do you make of that?
I think it’s wonderful because you’re thinking teenage girl, rampant emotion, sex, lust, you’re thinking all of those things. You think of her as being an intellectual because she is so smart. So what you’re saying with that book is she’s an intellectual wrapped in the shell of a teenage girl.

Juliet literally drank the Kool-Aid before arriving on the island, but did she ever really fit in with Ben and his people?
There are things that she knows that we never hear her discuss again. So, obviously there were agendas that she was participating in.

Does Juliet really love Jack?
I thought she felt very passionately about him. The way that she acted around him was very much like a woman who had fallen for someone, so it would be an interesting choice if she didn’t love Jack. But at the same time, it’s always tied up in her endgame, which of course is to get off the island.

How did you feel when you found out that Jack and Kate end up together?
I’ve always really liked Kate and Sawyer together, so I thought that was kind of a bummer. It’s hard to say how ego-wise I felt about it or how I felt about them together. Obviously, I’m sure that Juliet wouldn’t have thought it was that great.

What’s your theory about why the Others were interested in Juliet’s work?
I’ve always thought that the Others, because of Richard, don’t age. They are timeless, but they cannot procreate. I think the fact that Juliet is a genius in her field for the most part means she would probably be one of the only people who could figure out why that is and how to fix it.
