Lost Producers On Allison Janney’s Secret Role
What’s The West Wing’s C.J. doing on the May 11 episode of Lost? No one’s officially saying anything about Emmy winner Allison Janney’s mystery character (identified only as ‘Woman’), though online speculation has it that she may be playing the mother of Mark Pellegrino’s Jacob or Titus Welliver’s Man in Black – two of the few recognizable faces in this trippy third-to-last installment titled, “Across the Sea.”
“She’s incredible, but we can’t give away who she’s playing,” says executive producer Damon Lindelof, confirming only that Allison’s role is a major one. “We will confirm that she will be a woman.” (Dang, there goes my big island tranny creation theory.)
Fellow executive producer Carlton Cuse adds, “We were so happy that she was able to do this. It was really hard for her because she was getting ready to shoot a pilot, but she squeezed us in. Then once we saw her in this part we were like, ‘How could anyone else have done this but Allison Janney?”
“In fact,” adds Lindelof, “we’ve been talking about this character for awhile and how nervous we were that we wouldn’t find the right actress. When we first started talking about this character in the writers room we called her ‘Allison Janney’ under the assumption that we wouldn’t be able to get her.”
But the two EPs got on the phone with Allison and had “a lovely conversation,” tells Lindelof. “She’d seen enough of the show to ‘get’ it, but wasn’t completely dialed in. So we explained the part and said it was as close to writing a role for a particular person as we’d ever done. And she moved heaven and earth to go down to Hawaii for eight days.”
Cuse says the mystery role required “incredible presence,” which Allison demonstrated on her long-running NBC drama. “She had so much presence in The West Wing,” he recalls. “She was in charge and had the strength we needed.”
Hmmm… So, since my tranny creation theory’s out the window, might it be possible that Janney’s character was sent to the island on official business by… Martin Sheen’s President Bartlet? Not even in a flash-sideways!

Damon Lindelof Interview
-New sets built for the finale, sets that have never been seen
-The sideways and island timeline will definitely be revealed
-Characters in the sideways will realise there is another timeline with them on an island
-The fact that Desmond isnt on the finale cast photo is "beyond their involvement" and could be significant either way, meaning dead, or alive but not shown for a specific reason
-A large part of the finale is still as planned as it was 2 or 3 years ago
-We wont have a Sopranos series finale, where we are left on a cliffhanger, but not everything can be explained
-The total end of lost will not be a waking up from a dream sequence

From Ausiello
Question: Can you give us some clue about the season finale of Lost? —Juliana
Ausiello: The gorgeous and hilarious Rebecca Mader stopped by the EW offices yesterday and told us two important things: She knows how it all ends and she loves to consume large amounts of alcohol. Bottom line: We need to get that flame-haired Brit sloshed!

Henry Ian Cusick Interview
Talking 'Lost' with Henry Ian Cusick
It's been a rough few days for "Lost" fans, what with the lack of a new episode and the mounting anticipation/dread of the whole thing coming to an end.
But here's something that may pick up your spirits: an extended Q&A with none other than Desmond Hume, aka actor Henry Ian Cusick. He has lots to say -- about why he wasn't in that much discussed cast photo, the mysteriously leaked call sheet and how it felt to officially wrap the show last weekend after four-plus seasons of playing everyone's favorite "brotha" man. (He also confirms, without saying much else, that -- SPOILER!! -- he is indeed in the show's final scene.)
Cusick chatted with me via telephone Monday night from Hawaii, where, due to the time difference, he was en route to pick up his three sons from school. ("I've never done one driving before," he confessed about this interview. "Is that all right?" Of course it is, Mr. Hume.)
Here's what we discussed...
Jen: When you got the script for "Everybody Loves Hugo" and got to the point where it says, “Desmond hits John Locke with his car,” what was your reaction to that?
Cusick: I sort of figured it out quite quickly… well, my interpretation of it. I sort of knew why that was. I thought it was a little bit extreme.
I sort of thought that I had to get John Locke into a place where I was trying to wake him up. So it made sense to me. When I’m acting, I’ve always got to make it make sense to me why I do anything. Whether it’s right or wrong, I’ve just got to believe this is the reason why I am doing this and just go with it. Does that make sense?
Jen: Yeah, it does. So the notion that you were trying to wake him up, that’s something you got pretty much right away from reading it?
Cusick: I had to believe that was the reason I was doing it. There may be another reason I was doing it. But as an actor, because they don’t tell you why you’re doing things -- I figured out very early on on this show that even if you don’t know the real reason why you're doing stuff, you as an actor have to have a reason why you do things and just believe that.

From Kristin
Marlene in Boston: Kristin, as the Lost finale gets closer I don't want to know too much so I can enjoy it spoiler-free, but I can't take the wait! Any little tease you can give?
That heartbreak I keep teasing to you? It's soon. And it's multiple. Also, I think most of you will be very satisfied with the very end. I'm hearing sad tears now, happy tears later. So be strong and keep the faith, y'all.

waking up today
looks like day after day
hey, I love your way
a new day everyday
playing it as a saying
in May, come what may
if you sway my way
it is ok to stray
away…
waking up to you
to your smile, to your rules
waking up I do
feel it’s right, feel it’s new
flowers in your hair
and your stare, through the air
cliches in the waves
make it okay to call
you Kate…
what is it to say
“there’s a way, a getaway” ?
don’t you get away
we are nowhere, let us stay
walking in the sand
things make sense, and I sense
you should make today
the day we stray away

Filming Snippet 28 March
This is a report by a fan who was on LOST set on March 28.
and when I saw Elizabeth! aaaahhhh! me and my friend started jumping in the middle of the street, lmao! it was so unexpected to see her there and we are both big juliet fans so..it was amazing!
***
welcome guys I wish I was quick enough(or less shocked) to take a pic,we also wanted to wish her happy bday because it was the day after her 40th bday but we just menaged to keep staring at her like this I was hoping to see her with Josh but he was already gone on set (we were near the trailers) she came out of her trailer and went to the make up one, stayed there for awhile and came out with this beautiful flower in her hair, then went to change her outfit and went to the set. The all time we were like
***
Well ..I just checked something and …
when I saw Liz with that flower I immediately thought at the Suliet flower but said “no it doesnt seem like the same one” ’cause I had in mind this flower…the one Sawyer brought to Charlotte..
but..I was mistaken ’cause I just checked and the Suliet flower is not a Sun flower…
so..I guess it’s not really what kind of flower it is..but it’s mostly a flower (preferably a yellow one) to be symbolic of Suliet. And yes,the flower that Liz had in her hair was yellow with a bit of orange in the middle,if I saw it well.

No more Lost filming, production is over
Damon just tweeted about it, so now it's really done and what it made my cry right now is that our fav actors will not work together again, of course we'll not see more episodes/seasons but the worst part is the cast, it will be pretty hard on May but right now is it to think it's really over.
DamonLindelof We wrapped the Pilot on my birthday. Bender called at 6 AM to say the finale is completed exactly six years later. The circle closes.

Darlton Interview
The executive producers of Lost have explained that they always wanted viewers to engage with the show's characters.
Speaking to Wired, Carlton Cuse revealed that they thought the people in the programme were more important than the mythology.
"At the beginning the secret was that the show didn't announce itself as a genre show, so it could be about the characters," he said. "The audience got invested in the characters first and the mythology second. We were criticised for not having the characters talk about the mythology, and we were like, 'That's right, that's our dirty little secret'."
Cuse continued: "By not having the audience talk about the mythology, then people are engaged in, 'Is Kate going to end up with Sawyer?' and, 'I'm really compelled by the complexities of Benjamin Linus'. Those are the things we wanted the audience to obsess about, not whether the Valenzetti equation had any relevance to the functioning of the island's magical time travel properties."
Meanwhile, Cuse's co-creator Damon Lindelof explained that the narrative of the series had been driven by the characters.
"I think one of the most profound lessons I've learned over time as a showrunner is that the more you listen to the show, the better your show," he said. "We watched our characters interact, and that would influence how we put them together."

Sun and Jin’s Lost Reunion: Worth the Wait?
After nearly two years apart, Lost lovebirds Sun (Yunjin Kim) and Jin (Daniel Dae Kim) Kwon were finally reunited in the final moments of this week's episode. But after such intense anticipation, did this moment live up to expectations? In an exclusive interview, Daniel Dae Kim admits that when he first read the script, he was left hoping for something a bit more.
“Not only was the audience waiting for the reunion, but the actors were as well, and when it happened, it was significant for us,” Daniel says. “The one dynamic of that scene that we felt was interesting was that it happened amidst so many other people. (Indeed, besides Charles Widmore's crew of baddies, Sawyer, Kate, Hurley and Claire were looking on.)
"It didn’t happen where Sun and Jin were alone somewhere; it was in the middle of a lot of chaos, and I thought to myself, ‘That would not be as I would have envisioned it’," admits Daniel. "I would have thought they would have been able to reunite in private.”
But once on set to shoot the scene, Kim reconsidered his initial critique when he saw the emotional scene play out amongst his co-stars. “On the day, I realized it was important to see other characters’ reactions to these two lovers re-finding one another,” Daniel tells me. “It added an interesting dynamic because so much of what happens between Sun and Jin also effects the other characters on the show, and I hope that added to the significance and impact of the scene.”
But the happy reunion was all too brief. Moments after the two embraced and Sun regained her ability to speak English, Widmore's crew ordered the castaways down on their knees. Sawyer's deal with Widmore for safe passage off the island had seemingly backfired.
“One of the best things with this show is that just when you feel like you can rest, the writers find another clever plot twist to throw in," notes Daniel. "The drama of their story is not necessarily over.” (Trust me, that's a major understatement considering what's to come when new episodes resume in May. Look for our interview with Daniel in the May 3 issue of TV Guide Magazine on sale April 29.)
The writers sure worked overtime these past two years dreaming up ways to keep these two characters apart – including sending Sun to the mainland, Jin to what appeared to be an untimely death aboard an exploding freighter, and ultimately placing the Kwons in different time periods. Having just started a public Facebook account, Daniel says he had received several comments from fans expressing their frustration. Says the actor, “There are so many comments on my wall saying, ‘What the heck is going on with Sun and Jin?! One person on Twitter said, ‘I’ve given up.’ I suppose the writers just thought, ‘Good things come to those who wait.’”
So, you waited. A very long time. And you finally got your Sun/Jin reunion. Was it everything you hoped for? Or do you share Daniel's initial hope that the scene might have played with more emotion had Sun and Jin reunited in private with a bit more time to savor each other before all Hell broke loose?
Let's hear your thoughts.
