Lost cast reveals some mysteries

'LOST' cast reveal clues to show's mysteries

As LOST nears its conclusion in May after six seasons, its cast members shared some hints regarding the mysteries of the show.

In recent aired episodes, Ben Linus, the megalomaniac ex-leader of "The Others", is ousted by John Locke, or someone who appears to be him. Michael Emerson, who plays Ben, said it was tough to say whether his character would reclaim his place but said viewers would learn more about him.

"There's one dimension of Ben's story that they're unfamiliar with that is a big shift in gears and I think they're going to enjoy it a lot," Emerson told On The Red Carpet at a recent panel at the Paley Center for Media for the show.

Since it debuted in 2003, LOST has evolved from its seemingly ordinary island castaway survival story to bring to light philosophical debates about good versus. evil, science versus faith. The show achieved cult status, to the point where fans post theories online regarding its mysteries on a daily basis.

Terry O'Quinn, who plays Locke, said more will be revealed about the island, its seemingly divine guardian Jacob and the mysterious "man in black." And let's not forget the walking fountain of youth - the curiously emo "Other" Richard Alpert.
"I believe you're going to find out who Richard is - why he seems to be ageless," O'Quinn said.

Nestor Carbonell, who plays Alpert, said viewers will find out where his character came from and why he does not age throughout all the time periods the LOST characters are seen in throughout the show. No word as to whether the mystery behind Alpert's eyeliner fetish will be solved.

"They wrote an amazing episode that not only handles my character but, sort, of bigger issues about the show," Carbonell told On The Red Carpet.

For many, the conclusion of Lost after six seasons will be bittersweet.

"We feel like it's going to be, sort of like, a really, really great movie," co-executive producer Damon Lindelof said. "You'll laugh, you'll cry, there's action, there's romance and hopefully, the journey will have been worthwhile."
