Then we (I shared the visit with The TVShowGirl) were escorted uphill, where a scene from tonight's episode was being filmed, and there we saw familiar faces: Locke (Terry O'Quinn), Jack (Matthew Fox), Hurley (Jorge Garcia), Sun (Yunjin Kim), Lapidus (Jeff Fahey) and Cindy (Kimberley Joseph). The children and the teddy bear were also there, and since there was little dialogue, none of it really made any sense. How had this group of castaways ended up together with Smocke, we wondered?

Well, if you watched last week's episode, you know that Richard (Nestor Carbonell) is leading one faction in one direction and Hurley is leading another group in a different one.

The TVShowGirl and I thought that seeing the Temple up close was, in the words of Hurley, "awesome, dude." But even more awesome was listening to O'Quinn sing and play the guitar during a break and having him pull out his Locke knife and cut us a piece of passion fruit.

Sadly, you won't see O'Quinn's musical performance on this video (didn't want to intrude on his artistry), but here's a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of a brief moment in tonight's episode. Don't worry. There are no spoilers here, but there is one blooper.

“There's no earthly way of knowing… which direction we are going.” If you felt an intriguing chill after hearing the lyrics to the song from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" during a recent Lost promo but weren’t sure what it means—well that’s exactly what the folks over at ABC were hoping for.

As the megahit ramps up to it’s much-anticipated finale, the network’s marketing team has a tough weekly task of promoting Lost while revealing nothing. “It’s been a challenge,” admits ABC’s executive vice president of marketing Michael Benson. “Every piece of music we use, every type of video, every tactic plays into the mythology and the overall core essence of Lost. So we are very careful about everything we select. We want people drawing parallels to other things.”

And Lost and "Wonka" do have parallels. Both involve an enigmatic man who lures strangers to a mysterious setting with the hidden agenda of naming a successor. The persuasive Man in Black is Slugworth, ageless Alpert is the Everlasting Gobstopper… we could go on. “We got a note from [executive producer] Damon Lindelof about this specific promo,” Benson says. “He loved it.”

It won’t be hard to promote the May 23 finale since Lost fans are dying for some answers. "There are great expectations," says Marla Provencio, ABC's other EVP of marketing. "Lost truly changed the way we watched television, so when people come to the finale they’ll be analyzing it from the first second on."

Adds Benson, “We need to make sure that this finale goes beyond people who have watched Lost. We need to make this pop culture.”

Tv guide summary for epi 6x13

Did the Locke monster really get rid of Desmond? And did L.A. Desmond really get rid of L.A. Locke? You won't get an answer here, but we will note that Henry Ian Cusick isn't listed in the guest cast for this episode, which finds the Locke monster's camp (Sawyer, Kate, Sayid) merging with Jack's group (formerly Ilana's, including Hurley, Sun, Alpert, Ben etc.). The merger won't be seamless. In L.A., meanwhile, the focus is on Jack. Finally, a programming note: A rerun (the Alpert episode, "Ab Aeterno") is scheduled for next week — to give you a breather before the final four.

Set Pic April 19th

Today the cast and crew were back at Lanai Lookout aka the rocks where Desmond accidentally kills Kelvin. Here are two new set pics from a local Hawaii photographer Scott Sharick who apparently was hassled quite a bit from the crew and tried to explain to him that he was not even a LOST fan just taking pics.

I can see Hurley, Ben, Sawyer and possibly Jack and Locke on set. Is this one of the secret scenes? You can read Scott's experience at the link below.

Aaron in Boulder, Colo.: Are there any OMG moments we should look forward to in the final hours of Lost?
Well, besides all of the remaining hours of Lost?! Yes, in fact. We've been telling you about this crazy episode 15 where there are no series regulars present for months, and Jorge Garcia (Hurley) just gave us the goods on why it's so amazing. "Episode 15 is on the level of what 'Ab Aterno' was like this season. People who were big fans of 'Ab Aterno' are going to love this," he promised. "Total movie quality. It's such a huge piece of mythology that is a big, big, big story. It was just such a great read. It was almost like not even reading an episode of Lost." Is that OMG enough for you? No? Well how about a major death that will literally leave you sobbing at some point in the next few weeks? That big enough for you? And can I have a hug?

First, on Lost, we’ll learn that Jacob—soon to have a confrontation with Jack—may not be so godly after all when his character takes center stage in “Across the Sea” on May 11 (followed a week later by the penultimate “What They Died For”). “Jacob has a lot of darkness and corners we haven’t explored yet, so the differences between him and Lucifer are not as much as you would think,” says Mark, an L.A. native who shares a passion for martial arts with Lost rival/real-life chum Titus Welliver (Man in Black). “With these archetypal characters, the boundary between good and evil becomes blurry. Jacob’s on a mission. It’s your judgment as to whether he’s good or bad.”

Lost's Jorge Garcia on His Big Episode and the 'Heavy' Moment Yet to Come


Movieline.com: Over these six years, what was the most challenging moment you were asked to play?
Jorge Garcia: I’ve got a pretty hard moment in the finale.

Is it physically hard or emotionally hard?
It’s emotionally hard. Perhaps my heaviest moment ever.

Have you wrapped the finale yet?
No, we’re still shooting. Right now, I think we’re going until the 23rd or the 24th, and I think that’ll be the real ending.

Have Damon and Carlton been on set for it, now that there’s no more episodes to break and write?
They have been, twice this past week. It’s kind of a thing that happens at the end of the season. A lot of times, they’ll come out and tell us what happens in the secret scenes that we don’t get in our scripts. We have our scripts for the finale missing the final act, and when you’re with them, they’ll pull you aside and say, “OK, here’s what happens in the final act.”

So they just tell you to reserve that day and you won’t know what you’ll be doing until the last minute?
I have a scene that I’m shooting tomorrow that I got the pages for yesterday. It was great because I knew I had that scene for a week and I hadn’t gotten the script for it, and then I was in the makeup trailer and I saw that somebody in the makeup department had left the scene there. I snatched it and read it and then when I got my script, I saw on the last page it said, “This page is only for producers, director, and actors in the scene to read.” The scene actually continued past what I’d read in someone else’s copy, and it was kind of fun to be in the know that time, because I haven’t ever been in a secret scene before.
