Latest from Kristin

Despite reports that Lost's hottest bikini-wearer ever Maggie Grace is coming back to the ABC cult fave, I am now told exclusively that Maggie has not yet signed on to return for the final season.

A rep for the actress tells me: "It has not been confirmed that [Maggie] is returning [to Lost]. She has been asked, but nothing more than that."

So does this mean that she is the Lost "holdout" I've been teasing for a few weeks?

Confession time: Yes, Maggie was the Lostie I was referring to when I wrote the blind item about a "holdout" among the original cast who had been offered a return to the series but had not accepted. Reliable inside sources tell me she's the only original cast member so far who has been asked back to the series and unable to return. She has not shot any new scenes for the final Lost season.
However, according to her rep, Maggie had a very good reason for not making the trek to Hawaii: "She did three movies back to back to back and just got back from filming last Thursday."

From Kristin...

New Lost Regular! Executive Producer Damon Lindelof tells USA Today: "Yeah, Lapidus is defintiely a series regular this season. Jeff Fahey was just a recurring character up through last year. Now, whether Lapidus makes it until the end of the season is anyone's guess, but he's defintely one of the A Team this year." Lindelof also says there is no premiere date yet for the new season, and it's possible the show could move from Wednesdays to another night.Matthew in Seattle: Kristin, Did you see that Maggie Grace is returning to Lost? Was she the holdout you were talking about? It seems like she said no at first (because she was shooting movies) but now changed her mind and they are going to insert her into previously shot scenes.Whaaaaa? That's a crazy theory! On another (totally unrelated, of course) note: Remember that time Michael Cera resisted joining the upcoming Arrested Development movie (because he was too busy with other movies), but then some diehard fan/TV columnist outed him and he end up signing on? All I'm saying is, you're welcome, TV fans! In all seriousness, I'm just happy we get to see Shannon/Maggie again. Flight 815 would not be the same without her. Here's hoping this time around she'll get to grow old with Sayid and have some ridiculously hot babies.Anyone else counting the minutes till Lost returns?

Casting News

It looks like Maggie Grace is headed to Oahu in November to shoot top-secret Lost scenes as Shannon Rutherford, who was buried on the island back in ’05. Producers had invited Maggie back earlier, but the busy actress had to wait for shooting to conclude on a string of three film projects, including the role she just wrapped as Cameron Diaz’s kid sister in “Knight & Day,” also starring Tom Cruise. I’m hearing Shannon may be cut into an episode shot earlier this fall with brother Boone, played by Ian Somerhalder

Maggie Grace returns to hawaii soon ! is that mean shannon's return too ?

The final season of Lost is starting to look like that farewell to ER that recently aired—you know, the one that showcased nearly all the former cast members?

Emilie de Ravin's return to the island is already confirmed, and Dominic Monaghan's is in a promising state of limbo. Now, Maggie Grace is hinting that she may be the next deceased survivor of Oceanic 815 to crash Locke's power party.

When asked if she was looking forward to returning to Lost, the stunning starlet confirmed she's packing her bags. But what exactly did she say?

"I'm looking forward to visiting Hawaii soon," she teased to E! News at BCBG's Whitney Art Party in NYC tonight. "I don't know why..."

While she wouldn't say if she would be heading there for work or pleasure, she certainly sounded hopeful.

"I think that they are brilliant writers," she said. "If they found the right reason, then I'm sure I would be on."

Our fingers are crossed for more Shan, but are yours? Tell us in the comments if you want to see Shannon back on Lost in season six!
