Article : details of Jimmel Kimmel live "Aloha to Lost" event

"Lost" stars past and present Naveen Andrews, Nestor Carbonell, Alan Dale, Jeremy Davies, Emilie de Ravin, Michael Emerson, Matthew Fox, Daniel Dae Kim, Terry O’Quinn and Harold Perrineau are all confirmed to appear live on ABC's special "Jimmy Kimmel Live" post-"Lost" finale episode on Sunday, May 23 at 12:05 a.m.

Also making "special appearances" (we assume not in the studio) are Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway and Evangeline Lilly. The special -- “JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE: ALOHA TO LOST”-- will also include "an exclusive look at THREE ALTERNATIVE FINAL SCENES from the minds of executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse."

Lindelof and Cuse have previously promised to go into hiding after the "Lost" finale airing, and won't be live in studio.

According to ABC, "'Jimmy Kimmel Live' has been deluged by more studio audience ticket requests for this special than any show in its 7 plus year history."

'Lost' finale by extra half-hour!

The producers of ABC's hit drama have shot so much crucial material for the show's hugely anticipated series finale that the network has agreed to extend the last episode by an extra half hour.

When the "Lost" finale airs on Sunday, May 23rd, the episode will run from 9 to 11:30 p.m. The overrun will push back local news, with the previously announced "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost" post-finale special now airing at 12:05 a.m. ABC is expected to announce the plan on tonight's episode of Kimmel.

Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof just completed post-production on the finale -- titled "The End" -- on Monday night. Both sent out identical Tweets: "We're done. Amen."

The supersizing of the finale is the latest adjustment to what might as well be called "The 'Lost' Weekend." ABC is airing an "enhanced" (pop-ups) version of the show's original two-hour pilot on May 22. On Sunday there's a two-hour retrospective titled "Lost: The Final Journey," followed by the finale, then the local news (which was preempted in the first-blush recounting of this plan) and Kimmel post-show.

Darlton Interview

The executive producers of Lost have explained that they always wanted viewers to engage with the show's characters.

Speaking to Wired, Carlton Cuse revealed that they thought the people in the programme were more important than the mythology.

"At the beginning the secret was that the show didn't announce itself as a genre show, so it could be about the characters," he said. "The audience got invested in the characters first and the mythology second. We were criticised for not having the characters talk about the mythology, and we were like, 'That's right, that's our dirty little secret'."

Cuse continued: "By not having the audience talk about the mythology, then people are engaged in, 'Is Kate going to end up with Sawyer?' and, 'I'm really compelled by the complexities of Benjamin Linus'. Those are the things we wanted the audience to obsess about, not whether the Valenzetti equation had any relevance to the functioning of the island's magical time travel properties."

Meanwhile, Cuse's co-creator Damon Lindelof explained that the narrative of the series had been driven by the characters.

"I think one of the most profound lessons I've learned over time as a showrunner is that the more you listen to the show, the better your show," he said. "We watched our characters interact, and that would influence how we put them together."

Let's hope we'll get some interesting stuff to post here :)

Special Evening With LOST Creators, Cast & Crew - Creative Team to be Honored With Vision in Film Award

“The brilliance of LOST has forever raised the bar for future television projects. For the past five years LOST has kept TV viewers on the edge of their seats waiting for the next plot twist or turn and Hawaii has had the privilege of being the backdrop for this revolutionary show,” said Chuck Boller, Executive Director of HIFF. “We want to celebrate this partnership and what better way than to bring the show’s creators, producers, cast and crew together with their biggest fans. HIFF’s celebration of LOST will give the public a once-in-a-lifetime chance to interface with the incredible people behind this award-winning series.”
This all-day event truly benefits Hawaii, since the show is filmed entirely on the island of Oahu. In the evening, fans will have the opportunity to pick the brains of the show’s creative masterminds, discuss the last 5 1/2 years of the show with special guest appearances from cast and crew members and perhaps find out a bit about the upcoming final season. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will receive the Hawaii International Film Festival’s “Vision in Film Award,” presented by Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann. The City and County of Honolulu sponsors the “Vision in Film Award” at HIFF. Previous recipients of the Vision in Film Award include famed Chinese directors Ang Lee and Zhang Yimou.

HIFF will also honor Hawaii-based executive producer and director Jack Bender and co-executive producer Jean Higgins with the Hawaii International Film Festival’s inaugural Mahalo Nui Loa Award, created especially for Bender and Higgins.

Scifi magazine article about LOSTseason6

thank su from outlaws for the scans of the magazine.
here little quote of darlton concerning s6 especially juliet and dan but mostly the article contain spoilers we learnt at comic con this summer.

If the explosion did succeed in sending the survivors back to that fateful flight aboard Oceanic 815, then in that respect characters, like Juliet, should theoretically come through unscathed.

“Yes, she will,” said Cuse getting straight to the point.

“Well, again I think all this returns to the idea of whether or not her detonating the bomb had the desired effect,” said Lindelof elaborating on his colleague’s statement. “If it did, my guess is that she’s okay, and if it didn’t work, then probably the prognosis is not so great, considering the fall but I think we can say that Elizabeth Mitchell will be in Lost in the final season.”

Technically speaking, if Jack and his crew were successful, that could mean that Faraday was alive,” said Lindelof before going on to comment: “But I think you can say that you will be seeing Faraday on the show this year.”

Lost Bosses Aim to Keep Secrets at Comic-Con "Farewell Tour"

While Lost fans still have 18 hours of supernatural storytelling to look forward to come 2010, one harsh reality stands true: The ABC serial's appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con this Saturday will be its very last visit to that very big show.

"As Carlton [Cuse] says, it's 'the Cher farewell tour,'" fellow executive producer Damon Lindelof tells TVGuide.com. "So he will be performing 'Believe' in a unitard." Without missing a beat, Cuse confirms his plan to get "hair extensions" in time for his big number.

Get our day-by-day guide to Comic-Con 2009

In all seriousness, the Lost bosses are taking this year's Con-fab very seriously, seeing as "it's our chance to commune with our most committed fans," says Cuse. "We go to Comic-Con to put on a really good panel, and this year will be the same."

What can the lucky throngs pouring into the San Diego Convention Center's Hall H on Saturday morning expect from one of the convention's hottest tickets, the "Lost: The Final Season Begins" panel?

"We're going to be showing some things, some new material," Lindelof teases. "And then we open the floor to fan questions, and answer them as honestly as we can."

Exclusive: Check out Lost's Emmy-reel picks

But will that fan Q&A be spoilery? Lindelof says he and Cuse plan to "leak out some of the things we want to share," yet he also affirms the producers' resolve to keep details about Lost's swan song under the biggest lock and key in the drama's already-covert history.

"We're going to be very protective of the story in this final season," says Lindelof, "because we want people to watch."

But lest Comic-Conventioneers worry about walking away empty-handed, Cuse promises this: "There will be some cool stuff revealed, no question."
